We Believe That:
God - There is only one God (Isaiah 43:10; 44:6,8; John 17:3; 1 Cor. 8:5-6; Gal. 4:8-9). There are no other Gods before or after God Himself (Isaiah 43:10). God is all knowing, He is powerful, He is everywhere, He is Sovereign, He created all that exists, and God has always been God (1 John 3:20, Psalm 115:3, Jer. 23:23,24, Zech. 9:14; 1 Tim. 6:15-16, Gen. 1:1; Isaiah 44:24, Psalm 90:2).
-
Jesus - Jesus Christ is God (John 1:1,14; 10:30-33; 20:28; Col. 2:9; Phil. 2:5-8; Heb. 1:8). Jesus was born of a virgin and became flesh (Phil. 2:5-8, Isaiah 7:14; Matt. 1:23). Jesus is both God and man (Col. 2:9; 1 Tim. 2:5). Jesus was without sin (1 Pet. 2:22). Jesus Christ is our only way to salvation with God the Father (John 14:6; Matt. 11:27; Luke 10:22).
Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit makes up the third part of the Trinity and is God (Acts 5:3-4). The Holy Spirit is not a "force" but is alive (Acts 13:2). The Holy Spirit convicts us of our wrong doings and leads us to the path of truth (Ephesians 1:13, 5:18; Gal. 5:22-23).
-
The Bible -Is the Word of God. It is our only rule of faith and practice. Both Old and New Testaments are useful for teaching, correction, reproof, training in righteousness, and to equip God's people (2 Timothy 3:16). The Bible is without blemish. -
Man - All people have sinned (Rom. 3:23, 5:12). People did not evolve but were created by the Creator Himself (Gen. 1:26). Adam and Eve truly existed (Gen. 3:20; 5:1; 1 Tim. 2:13). Death entered the world because of Adam's sin (Rom. 5:12-15). Sin seperates us from God (Isaiah 59:2).
-
Salvation (Getting into Heaven) - We are all sinners and are uncapable of saving ourselves. God loves each person and wants every one to be His child. Christ makes it possible for everyone of us to become "new creations". By Him becoming a man and offering His life for the redemption of ALL sins we can have eternal life in Heaven (1 John 2:2; 2 Cor. 5:14; 1 Pet. 2:24). Salvation is a free gift from God (Rom. 4:5; 6:23; Eph. 2:8-9) and at NO time is it possible for anything to take our salvation away (Romans 8:38, John 10:27). Once we have become Children of God our salvation is secured and nothing can keep us from Heaven.
-
Baptism - Being fully immersed in water as a repentant believer. In the New Testament Church, every believer was commanded to be baptized (Acts 2:38). Baptism publicly identifies us with the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism doesn't impart salvation but is a public display of faith in Jesus Christ.
-
Spiritual Gifts - All spiritual gifts are available for all ages. However, God is sovereign and the Spirit gives gifts to each of us. (1 Cor. 12:11). Every believer in the Church has a gift. Every believer is a minister of Christ, and should use his or her gift in ministry to build up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13).
-
Hell - Those who reject Jesus will go to Hell (Rev. 20:11-15). Hell is a place of fiery punishment (Matt. 25:41; Rev. 19:20). Hell is eternal (Matt. 25:46).
-
Rapture (Jesus coming back) - Jesus will return visibly to earth (Acts 1:11). There will be a rapture (being caught up into the clouds with Jesus) (2 Pet. 3:7). The damned will be thrown into a lake of fire (Rev. 20:15). Satan will be cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 20:10).
